Galsworthy Farm, Devon

Permission granted

Torridge District Council has now granted planning permission for our Galsworthy Wind Park. This is great news, for everybody.

Climate change and the looming energy crisis (the ultimate double whammy), means questions of how we keep the lights on for our children and grandchildren have never been more pressing. The answer to both is to harness indigenous sources of renewable energy - like wind power.

These four turbines will make a huge contribution - powering over a quarter of the homes in Torridge, from a fuel source that doesn't come from Russia or the Middle East. And the electricity will be available to local people to power their homes with. We'll get started on the next steps for building this wind park, straight away, and hope to have it up and running by the end of 2009. We're absolutely chuffed.
