The foundation hole has been excavated to the approximate depth and width ready for the next stage of construction. The soil conditions on the site are ideal so no piling will be required for the foundations.
We will begin construction next week. The first stage is to lay a layer of ducting, which the power cables will run through, underneath a thin layer of concrete – known as the blinding layer. This will form the base of the foundations. A network of steel reinforcement is then laid on top of the concrete which will hold the 'foundation can' in place. Concrete will be pumped into the foundation mass to complete the structure.
We are expecting the turbine delivery the second week of December.
